Long Island University, registers 30,000 students and 750 faculty members, is the eighth-largest independent university in United States.The multi-campus university consists of the main downtown Brooklyn facilty, C.W. Post in suburban Brookville, Southampton College, Rockland and Westchester counties, and Brentwood.The Brooklyn Campus, established in 1926, is the first and primary campus of Long Island University. The Brooklyn Campus offers more than 195 programs.The C.W. The campus offers about 250 programs.Southampton College was built in 1963, and is located at the heart of the world-famous Hamptons. It offers 43 academic programs.Though LIU offers hundreds of programs, conventionally its strength lies in liberal arts and sciences, pharmacy and health sciences, health policy and administration, management and business, marine and environmental sciences, the visual, performing and media arts, education, and library and information science.LIU’s regional campuses primarily offer postgraduate programs. corporations and at the United States Military Academy at West Point.All academic activities are supplemented by state-of-the-art classrooms, learning and laboratory facilities. LIU’s library system boasts more than 2.8 million volumes.Beyond academics, Long Island University also provides recreation and entertainment, which is vital in grooming some aspects of the well-being of the student.The modern athletics center at the Brooklyn Campus, and the eight-lane swimming pool and basketball courts at the C.W. Post Campus are conceived along these lines, and they annually play host to many sporting events.
